Company Amazon will no longer release the Astro for Business robot

Amazon has decided to stop production of its Astro for Business security robot. The company will focus on home appliances, writes TechCrunch.

Amazon sent its customers and employees a letter saying that the company preferred a home version of the Astro robot over a business model.

To make Astro the best home robot, we've decided to stop supporting Astro for business. We're excited about the home experiences we're inventing for Astro and look forward to sharing them in the future. Amazon Statement

The home version of the Astro robot was developed in in 2021. It can monitor home security, detect pets, send messages and transport items weighing up to 2 kg.

The company decided to stop production of the business model due to insufficient number of customers, although only 7 months have passed since the launch .

Astro for Business works cost $2350. The monthly fee was from $20 to $100 depending on the subscription.

The company plans to stop Astro for Business from September 25, 2024 year.
