Iran should obviously be afraid of new sanctions from the US

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that the US intends to impose new sanctions on Iran in the coming days due to the attack on Israel, reports Reuters.

"On sanctions, I expect that we will take additional action against Iran in the coming days." , Yellen said. She said the Treasury and State Departments had previously taken steps to curb "destabilizing" Iran's behavior, reducing its ability to export oil.

"It is clear that Iran continues to export some oil. Perhaps we can do more. I don't want to pre-review our actual sanctions efforts, but it certainly remains on the radar as a possible area that we could look at,” Yellen explained.

Treasury has been working to secure assistance China, G7 partners and other major global suppliers to undermine Iran's ability to continue exporting oil and obtain the microelectronics needed for the drones that were used to attack Israel and were sold to Russia.
