As autumn approaches, more and more rumors about the future iPhone 16 Pro line appear . Here are the main changes expected in the cameras of these smartphones.
New anti-glare technology
Apple plans to introduce a new lens coating for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, which will allow you to get rid of glare in photos. Sources inside the company say it's about the atomic layer deposition (ALD) technique, which allows materials to be applied layer by layer at the atomic level. This ensures high accuracy of control of coating thickness and composition.
ALD technology is already used in the production of semiconductors, and now Apple plans to apply it to improve the quality of camera lenses. The main advantage of this approach is the creation of anti-reflective coatings that significantly reduce visual disturbances, such as light streaks and halos, which occur when shooting in the direction of bright light sources.
Also, ALD is expected to reduce distortion on photographs, for example, the appearance of weak secondary images, especially with strong light contrast.
The main camera will become better
The iPhone 16 Pro line may use a new sensor from Sony as the main camera module . It will have an improved design that allows you to improve the shooting experience in poor lighting conditions.
If previously the photodiodes, which actually capture the light, and the pixel transistors were combined, then in the new sensor they will be separated. Due to this, the size of the photodiodes will increase, while the pixel size will remain the same. The new technology will allow the sensor to capture twice as much light.
Ultrashirik is finally being modernized
iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will receive an updated 48 MP ultra-wide-angle camera. As a reminder, in the iPhone 15 Pro line, this module is only 12 MP. The ultra-wide upgrade will give more advantages when shooting, including in poor lighting conditions.
Shooting on the upgraded ultrawide will be distinguished by improved color reproduction and greater detail. At the same time, such frames will be provided with the possibility of more flexible post-processing.
Optical zoom increases
In iPhone 16 Pro, instead of a 3x telephoto lens, a periscopic telephoto lens with improved stabilization, "tetra lens" and 5x optical zoom, like the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The new iPhone 16 Pro will also offer at least 25x digital zoom.
