Ukrainian wines won gold at the Decanter World Wine Awards international competition

The results of the Decanter World Wine Awards 2024, which is being held for the 21st time, have recently been published. The list includes all the winners of this year's competition.

Ukrainian wines won 57 awards at the Decanter World Wine Awards international competition.

A jury of 243 leading wine experts, including 20 Master Sommeliers and 61 Masters of Wine from 33 countries, blind-tasted 18 143 wine samples from 57 countries. As a result, the following were determined: the best 50 positions awarded Best in Show, 117 platinum, 643 gold, 5 977 silver and 8 016 bronze medals.

The DWWA medal on the bottle means that the wine has been blindly assessed by high-level experts, and esteemed tasters have objectively recognized and awarded wines of good, excellent and outstanding quality, creating "the perfect little guide,– noted Sommelier and competition judge Amanda Wassmer-Bulgin.

Ukrainian winemakers also won the Decanter World Wine Awards 2024 – this year, 57 Ukrainian wines received various awards. Among them:

  • Shabo < /b>(Odesa) – 1 gold, 5 silver, 7 bronze

  • Beykush Winery< /b>(Mykolaiv) – 3 silver, 8 bronze

  • Chateau Chizay (Transcarpathia) – 3 silver, 3 bronze

  • Leleka Wines (Bessarabia) – 5 bronze

  • Frumushika Nova (Odesa) – 1 silver, 2 bronze

Five Ukrainian wines received the highest marks from the jury:

  • Shabo Limited Edition Muscat Ottonel White 2018 – 95 points
  • Shabo Limited Edition Traminer Rosé 2016 – 94 points
  • Chateau Chizay Ice Wine Riesling White 2021 – 94 points
  • Chateau Chizay Late Harvest Furmint White 2022 – 92 points
  • Frumushika Nova Family Citronniy Magaracha White 2023 – 91 points
