Police are investigating a shooting at a water park near Detroit: 9 people injured

There was a shooting incident at a water park near Detroit on the evening of Saturday, June 15; a man wounded nine people with a gun, including two children, and then shot himself while he was surrounded by police pursuing him.

An eight-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot in the head. His four-year-old brother was also injured, but his condition is stable. Their mother is also in critical condition, having been shot in the stomach and leg, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard told reporters, according to the Voice of America.

The suspect got out of the car in front of the Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad in Rochester Hills, Michigan, around 5 p.m. and fired about 30 rounds from a Glock 9mm semi-automatic handgun, reloading several times, Bouchard said at a news conference.

At the house where he later hid out suspect and where he was surrounded, a handgun and a semi-automatic rifle were found, local officials added. The suspect was reported to be 42 years old. The motives for his actions are being clarified.
