In the USA, a Tesla electric car on autopilot crashed into a police car

In the USA, in the city of Fullerton (California), there was a serious accident involving a Tesla electric car and a police car, and the policeman miraculously survived.

During traffic regulation by the police after the accident, the police car blocked the road marked with traffic torches and signal lights. A Tesla electric car running on autopilot crashed into a car at full speed. During the interrogation, the driver admitted that he was not following the road, but was looking at his smartphone.

At the moment of the collision, the policeman managed to react and jumped away from the car. Thanks to his reaction, the Tesla driver did not become a murderer.

Commenting on the incident, company representatives said that they changed the name of the function “Autopilot” to “Full Autopilot (Supervised)”. This means that the driver cannot fully rely on the technology and must monitor the road and control the situation.
