In South Korea, a robot civil servant committed suicide after a year of working in the city hall

The city council of the city of Kumi in South Korea said that their robot administrator committed suicide by jumping from the stairs. He was nicknamed the country's first suicide robot. This is reported by France24.

According to witnesses, the robot circled in one place for some time before the jump, reporting technical problems. The circumstances of the event are still being established.

This robot has been working at City Hall since August 2023. He helped workers deliver documents, advertised events and provided information to local residents. One official noted that the robot was a full member of the team and worked very hard.

The robot, created by Bear Robotics, had its own civil servant card and worked from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Unlike other similar robots, this one served several floors and could independently call the elevator.

Kumi City Council does not yet plan to replace the robot administrator.
