A 53-year-old man from Petit-Rocher-Ouest , in the municipality of Belle-Baie, in northern New Brunswick, faces two charges related to child pornography.

The individual appeared in Bathurst Provincial Court on Monday and was charged with possession of child pornography and making child pornography available. He will appear in court again on April 22 at 9:30 a.m.

He was arrested on March 15, 2023, following a search by the RCMP's Internet Child Exploitation Unit in New Brunswick which resulted in the seizure of several electronic devices .

The man was later released on strict conditions and on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
