Elon Musk plans to charge new X users to post

Elon Musk/Angga Budhiyanto

American entrepreneur and owner of the X social network Elon Musk plans to charge new users of the platform a small fee for publishing messages. This is how he wants to solve the problem with bots.

Elon Musk claims that this is the only way to stop the massive “onslaught of bots” in the current environment. This is reported by TechCrunch.

According to Musk, traditional bot verification tools, such as captcha – a computer test used to determine who is using the system: a human or a computer – no longer work as reliably. as before, in connection with the development of artificial intelligence.

Replying to one of the users of the X social network, Elon Musk added that without paying a commission, new accounts will be able to make publications three months after their creation.

< p>There is no information yet when the new requirement to pay for the first publication will appear in X and what the fee will be.

As a reminder, last October X started charging new unverified users $1 a year in New Zealand and the Philippines. New free users who registered on the platform from these regions could read the posts but could not interact with them. In order to post content, like, repost, reply, bookmark and quote posts, they had to pay for it.
