The EU reports that it does not consider Lukashenko president

EU Speaker Peter Stano stated this, writes Ukrinform.

"The European Union can only be threatening to those who neglect democracy, human rights and the rights of their own citizens, and do not respect the norms of international law in international relations. The European Union is not an aggressive bloc, it does not fight wars, so no one should be afraid of the European Union,” – he said.

Stano noted that the EU can only take action against those who are trying to undermine the rules of democracy, international law and human rights, against people like Lukashenko.

"Lukashenko is not the president. We don't consider him president. He is a ruler who stole the election results from his own people and continues to repress his own people. “He is an accomplice to the crimes committed by Russia during the attack against Ukraine and during its criminal aggression,” the speaker explained.

He noted that the EU has been taking precautions at least since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion to Ukraine in February 2022 to prevent any aggression from modern European dictators such as Lukashenko or Putin.

"We are working to ensure that Europe is better equipped to better counter the threats that could come from these people, such as Lukashenko or Putin,” concluded Stano.
