The Armed Forces together with the Ministry of Strategic Industries are launching a new project called the “Iron Range” . The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Andriy Lebedenko, spoke about the details of such an initiative.

The above-mentioned project will contribute to the support of Ukrainian manufacturers. In particular, it will reduce the time of manufacturing new weapons for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

What is the purpose of such an initiative

The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the main goal of this project is to support Ukrainian manufacturers, of which there are currently many. According to him, they are actively creating new types of weapons for our soldiers.

We want to create this test site, which will allow the manufacturer to get access to a professional assessment of his product, guide him through the methodology of all tests, provide a site and appropriate means for evaluating the characteristics of certain means, provide assistance in the preparation of documents, – explained the Ukrainian colonel.

Lebedenko noted that the system that operated before was more complicated, required more procedures, and access to training grounds where weapons could be tested was more closed.

What details about the project are currently known

As the colonel said, “The iron training ground is just getting started. In particular, it is planned to open 3 areas, including robotic systems, drones and EW systems. It is noted that all of them should be operational in a month.

Any manufacturer at any stage of the production of his sample has the opportunity to contact the Armed Forces and get the time and date when he can arrive (to the test site – ed.) with his sample,
– claims Lebedenko.

The Deputy Chief Commissar also added that the opening of the “Iron Range” will make it possible to reduce the production time of new weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukraine is increasing its own production of drones
