The head of the Foreign Ministry of Lithuania called for stronger sanctions against Iran for military support of the Russian Federation

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielus Landsbergis said that the West should introduce new sanctions against Iran for its regional destabilizing behavior and support of Russian aggression against Ukraine.

He stated this during a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Hanke Bruins Slot, who arrived in Lithuania on a working visit.

< p>«We discussed the situation in the Middle East, condemning Iran's unprecedented attack on Israel. Further escalation and its spread in the Middle East region will have very catastrophic consequences for this region, as well as for Ukraine, which is defending itself against Russian aggression. However, it is quite obvious that Iran, like Russia, feels inspired by the West's indecision»,— stated Gabrielus Landsbergis.

The ministers agreed that the future of Europe is being decided today in Ukraine, and what it will be depends largely on timely support.

«Ammunition, air defense, long-range artillery, drones — we support all measures and initiatives that will help Ukraine to get the necessary weapons as soon as possible, at the same time, we should fundamentally increase the production of our own defense industry,— noted the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.
