According to the German police, three girls and a boy recovered from serious injuries. The stench persists at the doctor's office, but there is no threat to their life.

The bus driver was also injured at the doctor's office with minor injuries. Another 16 students were slightly injured, but they were given additional help at the scene. The teachers, who were accompanying high school students, were left untrained, and were in a state of shock.

67 students from 14 to 15 years old, as well as five teachers, were on the bus. The bus went straight from Marburg on a school excursion to England, but on the A45 highway the bus went into a ditch and turned over onto the side.
