Absolute comics legend, Alan Moore is the author of numerous masterpieces, among which we obviously findV for Vendetta, From Hell, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, The Killing Joke and Watchmen. Published between 1986 and 1987 by DC Comics, the series definitively established Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons among the essential names in the industry. It must be said that with The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller, Watchmenhas profoundly revolutionized the writing of superhero comics, by offering a more mature and violent story, with much more complex and nuanced writing, while imposing a new grammar of comic book writing.

The series has already been the subject of two adaptations: in 2009, Zack Snyder proposed a version of the comic book produced by Warner Bros., praised by some fans and strongly criticized by others, particularly because of certain changes with the original work. In 2019, screenwriter Damon Lindelof proposed a sequel to Moore and Gibbons' masterpiece with a high-quality television series, produced by HBO. 

This week, Warner Bros. shared the trailer for the new adaptation ofWatchmen in the form of two animated films.
