The US Embassy in Lebanon reported on Wednesday, June 5, that a shooting incident occurred near the embassy entrance in the morning. The diplomatic mission emphasizes that its building and employees are currently safe. Diplomatic sources say US Ambassador to Lebanon Lisa Johnson is currently traveling outside the country.

The Lebanese army said a Syrian citizen opened fire on Wednesday outside the US embassy in Beirut after confronting embassy security guards. shootout, during which he was wounded. He was detained and taken to the clinic. Meanwhile, the military is searching for other possible shooters.
