Fragments of the performance “The Witch of Konotop” by the Ivan Franko National Theater were shown on the first day of the first Peace Summit in Switzerland.

About it says in the theater's official Instagram account.

The play “The Witch of Konotop” is one of the most popular and well-known modern plays of the Franko Theater. She received a number of theater awards, in particular, in 2024 she became a laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine in the category “Theatrical Art”.

The Konotop witch is the voice of modern Ukraine, which is fighting the darkness for its existence. This is a modern story about the strength of the Ukrainian spirit and its indomitability. To the spirit that is filled with the light of truth and sounds loudly today through the ages in a single desire to live, create, win! – says Yevhen Nyschuk, general director and artistic director of the Ivan Franko National Theater.

The director of the play is Ivan Uryvskyi. “The Konotop Witch” features two sets of actors. The performance has gone “viral” on social networks, gaining millions of views, and publications such as The New York Times write reviews about it. In order to buy tickets for the performance, Kyivites lined up in large numbers since the morning.
