The manufacturers of the infantry fighting vehicle note that the Marder is one of the most proven weapons systems in the world. It was developed for the German Armed Forces, which still use this model today. Over the years, the Marder has been repeatedly modernized and improved.

The Marder 1A3 version that Rheinmetall supplies to Ukraine has additional laser rangefinders for effective and precise target engagement.

The company first delivered 20 combat vehicles of this type to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in March 2023. Rheinmetall indicates that in total they have transferred 200 infantry fighting vehicles.
