On armed JAS 39E Gripen are air-to-air missiles; IRIS-T and AIM-9 Sidewinder with thermal guidance and MBDA Meteor and AIM-120 AMRAAM radar missiles. In addition, the fighter can carry air-to-surface missiles; AGM-65 Maverick and long-range cruise missiles.
Thanks to its characteristics, Gripen E can provide the same or even greater combat power compared to other aircraft that can only stay over the battlefield for a limited time . The aircraft is already in the service of six countries: Sweden, Brazil, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Thailand and the Republic of South Africa, and Sweden and Brazil have ordered new modifications of this fighter.
