Tesla has suspended deliveries of its Cybertruck due to problems with the windshield wiper motor, according to reports from customers on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum and Reddit. While Tesla has not officially confirmed the problem or announced a recall, many customers are reporting delays in scheduled deliveries.
This comes after new Cybertruck owners were immediately denied windshield wipers. Earlier this spring, Tesla was forced to suspend deliveries of the Cybertruck to fix an accelerator pedal problem that affected about 3,878 vehicles. Fixing the problem was easy and supply was quickly restored.
The current wiper motor problem seems to be more complicated and deliveries are being delayed by at least a week. How Tesla resolves these recurring issues will be closely watched by both buyers and industry analysts, especially in light of the approval of a large ($50 billion) payout to Elon Musk.
