Serbia raised fighter jets due to an unknown aircraft 100 km from the capital

Today, March 30, Serbia raised MiG-29 fighter jets to the sky due to the detection of an unknown aircraft over Valjevo. This city is located approximately 100 kilometers southwest of the country's capital, Belgrade.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine  with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Serbia.

The agency noted that this device was recorded at an altitude of 5,500 meters above Valjevo on Saturday at 10:39 by the Forces for Control and Protection of the Sovereignty of the Airspace of the country. a pair of MiG-29 fighter jets, the ministry said in a statement.

It is also indicated that the airspace continued to be monitored by missile units of the air defense forces.

“During the guidance of another pair of aircraft to the interception zone the target was lost due to the reflection of the radar pointers. The fighters continued their flight and surveyed the area in accordance with the procedure to clarify the situation,” the Ministry of Defense of Serbia said.

Later, the military aircraft returned to the base airfield.
