At least 150 foreign legionnaires have died in Ukraine in a year of war
When Russia invaded Ukraine Ukraine, hundreds of men from countries all over the world attended the call to arms. Some were motivated by a hunger for combat, others by the ideals of defending freedom in the face of unjustified aggression. Maybe to most a combination of all of the above. Many have left their lives on the Ukrainian battlefields. There are references in the press in various countries to the deaths in combat with Russia of at least 157 people.
