On the eve of the presentation, the characteristics of the new Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 and Flip 6 leaked online

Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 and Flip 6 will be shown on July 10/Slashleaks

All the secrets of Samsung have just leaked online. Well, at least when it comes to little things like… the two most important foldable smartphones this year, the Galaxy Fold 6 and Galaxy Flip 6.

The company is expected to officially unveil the Fold 6 and Flip 6 at Samsung Unpacked in Paris next Wednesday, July 10. But Evan Blass obtained promotional materials almost a week before and published them for public viewing, writes PhoneArena.

With the cat out of the bag, let's dive deeper and find out what new features will appear at this year's show Fold and Flip.

In leaked promotional materials, Samsung highlights the following innovations in its book-shaped Galaxy Fold 6:

  • Lightweight, slim design
  • Note summaries with artificial intelligence with Note Assist
  • Translator function that benefits from the bend design
  • Circle to Search function adapted to large screen
  • 1.5 times brighter display (up to 2600 nits)
  • 18% faster CPU, 19% faster GPU, 42% faster NPU
  • Longer battery life: 23 hours of video (versus 21 hours on Fold 5), 77 hours of music (versus 73 hours on Fold 5)
  • Improved camera thanks to new NPU
  • Improved zoom quality
  • Better dust protection with an IP48 rating (versus IPX8 on the Fold 5)
  • Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back screens

< p>Among all these features, what stands out is… well, just how similar the Fold 6 is to the Fold 5 and previous generations. There aren't any big changes to the design or dimensions of the device, and it will mostly feel like previous models.

There are certainly some nice changes, even if they're subtle. If you ask us, what we appreciate most is the lighter weight, which will make the Fold 6 much less of a heavy brick.

The added dust protection is also nice to see, even if we don't have full dust protection yet (Samsung has certified the Fold to protect against large dust particles).

The increased battery life is also a nice surprise, considering that the battery size is unchanged at 4400 mAh.

And then comes the Galaxy Flip 6. Here are all the new features mentioned in leaked Samsung promotional materials:

  • More compact design
  • New translator function uses the front display
  • Chat history and chat prompts thanks to artificial intelligence, even when the phone is folded
  • Circle to search
  • New 50-megapixel main camera with a focus on better portraits and low-light shooting
  • Improved image processing thanks to the new ProVisual Engine and AI
  • A larger battery of 4,000 mAh (versus 3,700 mAh on the Flip 5)
  • Longer battery life: 23 hours of video on the Flip 6 (compared to 20 hours on the Flip 5), 68 hours of audio playback (compared to 57 hours on the Flip 5)
  • Protection class IP48 (vs. IPX8 in Flip 5)
  • Stronger Gorilla Glass Victus 2
  • Same screen sizes (3.4-inch front, 6.7-inch main)

First of all, how cool is it that Samsung no longer calls the Flip's front display a “flexible display”? Believe it or not, that was the official name he used last year. At least we don't see that name in the promotional materials.

So… what has changed in the Flip 6 story this year? It seems to come down to three things: an improved design, a better primary camera, and longer battery life.

Are these upgrades enough?

Overall, Samsung , seems to be refining and improving its foldable smartphones rather than trying to change them from the ground up. We always welcome increased battery life and design improvements that greatly improve the usability of foldable devices.

However, we were hoping that the creases would disappear and we were hoping for a full dustproof foldable gadget, but maybe next year .
What do you think about these leaked Fold 6 and Flip 6 materials? Would you like to buy one of these two phones, and if so, which one?
