Three original British World War II Keep Calm and Carry On posters will be auctioned by Anderson and Garland. It will be held on July 4 in Newcastle (England).
Their estimated value is over £6,000. This is reported by the BBC publication.
The posters were created on behalf of the Ministry of Information of Great Britain in 1939 (before the beginning of the Second World War). Their aim was to raise British morale in the event of a Nazi offensive.
Motivational posters bore the words Keep Calm and Carry On. This design had limited distribution. It was kept “for use during serious crises”.

Also, in the first months of the war, two other types of posters with the inscriptions Your Courage, Your Cheerfulness, Your Resolution Will Bring Us Victory (“Your courage, your cheerfulness, your determination will bring us victory”) and Freedom is In Peril (“Freedom in Peril”).
The posters were put up for auction by a Suffolk policeman who had them from the Second World War. Anderson and Garland auction house will auction these posters on July 4, with an estimate of £1,200 to £3,000.
