Julie Labbé’s mandate at the head of the CIUSSS extended until 2028

Julie Labbé is the President and CEO of the Integrated University Health and Social Services Center (CIUSSS) of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.

The mandate of the president and CEO of the Integrated University Health and Social Services Center (CIUSSS) of Saguenay-Lac- Saint-Jean, Julie Labbé, was extended on Wednesday by the Council of Ministers until 2028.

The announcement was made in a press release by the Minister of Health, Christian Dubé.

The four-year extension will take effect April 1.

Ms. Labbé has demonstrated great leadership in recent years as CEO of the CIUSSS du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. Several major challenges await us over the coming years, notably with the establishment of Santé Québec, first indicated the minister.

Creation of Santé Québec provides for the gradual transfer of staff from the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) to an agency. All establishments in the network will be integrated into the new agency by the end of fall.

Julie Labbé has been in office since April 2018. She then succeeded Martine Couture, who had previously been CEO of the Regional Health Agency, until the creation of the CIUSSS in 2015.

In July 2023, Julie Labbé was inducted as honorary colonel at the Canadian Armed Forces Health Center in Bagotville.

His experience and skills will be assets to guide the teams in his establishment and implement the necessary changes to the health and services network social, added the minister.
