Netherlands police test Boston Dynamics robops for drug lab raids – video

Dutch police are testing an autonomous robot dog with artificial intelligence for use in drug lab raids. It is discussed on the company's website.

This step is aimed at protecting police officers from the risks associated with criminal activities, explosive substances and chemical threats.

The robot developed by Boston Dynamics and named Spot, can independently inspect the premises, map the area and detect dangerous chemicals. During initial tests, Spot demonstrated the ability to explore and map a 15-by-20-meter mock-up of a drug lab, successfully locating and moving dangerous substances into a dedicated container.

Spot is equipped with additional modules and cameras that enable laser scanning , visual, thermal, radiation and acoustic control. During tasks, Spot can lift and move objects weighing up to 6.8 kg and pull objects weighing up to 22.6 kg.
