U China to develop stingray drones that will attack enemy ships

According to Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, military countries are planning to upgrade underwater drones previously used to monitor corals to use them in reconnaissance and combat operations.

Scat drones with a soft body, which resemble real animals and move in a similar way, have been developed by Chinese scientists since 2006. They are equipped with cameras, sonar and navigation systems. The equipment allows drones to transmit video and information about their location in real time.

Now these devices are planned to be modified in such a way that they can have a payload. In particular, engineers plan to build a drone-scat weighing one ton, which will be able to dive to a depth of more than 1,000 meters, perform reconnaissance tasks, and also attack enemy ships.
