American actress of Ukrainian origin Ivanna Sahno, who is filming in Hollywood, said that she terminated the contract with Netflix. She refused to play the role of a Russian woman.

According to the actress, she refuses to play Russian women even in promising projects. Ivanna has a clear position on the war in Ukraine and a negative attitude towards the Russians.
It was the role of a Russian woman, that is, the role of an American woman, but she had a background from the Soviet Union. I was already attached to this project, and at the time it was one of my first major roles in a major Netflix series. But we didn't start filming, we immediately closed down because of covid. And I realized that I simply cannot play a person even from the Soviet Union. I ended my contract with Netflix and I had a bit of a problem [because of that]. The next job I do with Netflix, I owe them 50% of my salary because I broke that contract, Sakhno said.
Ivanna noted that in recent years, Russia has been represented less and less in Hollywood. In an interview, the actress admitted that she had certain “problems” because of the breakup.
