Now users on Pinterest will be able to search for pictures of clothes not only by category, but also by body type. The new function of the application was launched in the USA and is being tested in Canada.
The function works with the help of technology using artificial intelligence. This is stated in Pinterest's blog.
In this way, the platform wants to become more inclusive and provide personalized search results. After all, according to the company's research, users want to see a representation of people with different types of figure, hair, skin color.
You can choose the type of figure in the application using the “Types of figure” button at the top after the search results.
Pinterest's director of marketing, Sabrina Ellis, emphasized that the new feature will allow users to more consciously choose and control what they see on the platform.
We've already seen that people who use body type ranges, have a 66% higher engagement rate per session on Pinterest than those who don't use the tool, she noted.
Later this year, Pinterest will expand the capabilities of the new feature. In particular, it will make it available for searching men's outfits.
