Actress Sydney Sweeney is completely unrecognizable on the set of her new film: Christy Martin. The 27-year-old actress breaks her sex symbol image in this biopic about the famous American boxer.

At only 27 years old, Sydney Sweeney has become the sex symbol of an entire generation. Revealed in the series Euphoria, she is starting to be absolutely everywhere in Hollywood. This year alone, we found her in three films. The horror film Immaculée,in the romantic comedy Everything But You and in the superhero film Madame Web. Her career is on the rise, and things are accelerating for the young actress who will soon be starring in Christy Martin, a biopic about the famous boxer.

Nicknamed The Coal Miner's Daughter, Christy Martin was born in 1968 and has become a major figure in women's boxing. She became the first female boxer to gain recognition in the industry. During her career, Christy Martin has accumulated more than 49 victories, including 31 by knockout. She was a world super lightweight champion and won several major titles. In 2010, she also survived an attempted murder of her husband, James Martin. The latter stabbed the young woman several times, and shot her in their Florida home. Christy has since married a woman, his former rival in the ring, Lisa Holewyne. In 2020, Christy Martin was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, highlighting his lasting legacy in the world of boxing. Today, Christy Martin is happily married, and is 57 years old.

Sydney Sweeney changes her look for this biopic on Christy Martin. The 27-year-old actress breaks her image as a sex symbol by stepping into the shoes of the boxer. Completely unrecognizable, Sydney Sweeney sports a never-before-seen mullet, ditched her blonde hair for a brunette dye job, and bulked up to get into the athlete’s shoes. Filming for the biopic is currently underway under the direction of director David Michôd (The Rover, Animal Kingdom). The rest of the cast includes Ben Fosterin the role of the abusive husband and Merritt Weaver as Katy O’Brien.
