The US imposed sanctions against Chinese and Belarusian companies for supplying equipment to Pakistan

The US imposed sanctions against the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant from Belarus and three Chinese companies for allegedly providing missile equipment for Pakistan's ballistic missile program.

The US State Department announced sanctions against the Minsk Wheeled Tractor Plant (MZKT), as well as three Chinese companies. It is alleged that they transferred missile equipment to Pakistan.

Details

In addition to the Minsk Wheeled Tractor Plant, the following were sanctioned:

  • Xi'an Longde Technology Development Company Limited, 
  • Tianjin Creative Source International Trade Co, 
  • Ltd and Granpect Co. Ltd.

The decision is explained by “the transfer of products used in missiles for Pakistan's ballistic missile development program, including the long-range missile program”.

The companies, alleged to have engaged in activities or arrangements that “substantially contributed to, or created the risk of significantly contributing to, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction or their means of delivery, including any effort to manufacture, acquire, possess, develop, transport, transfer or use such items by Pakistan ” .
