Poland received a EUR 300 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the construction of the European “Iron Dome”, in particular, its satellite component.
This was stated by the head of the Polish government Donald Tusk during a joint press conference in Warsaw with EIB head Nadia Calvino, Ukrinform correspondent reports.
As Tusk noted, the construction project of the European “iron dome” is developing, as evidenced by the signing of an agreement to receive a loan from the EIB for the development of the Polish satellite program, which Warsaw is implementing together with Paris.
&ldquo ;It is about 300 million euros, a significant amount, thanks to which our plan to build an iron dome over Poland and Europe has moved a step forward”, Tusk said.
The head of the Polish government said, that in a few days he, together with other European premiers, will present the project of the construction of the “iron dome”; over Europe.
As reported by Ukrinform, Tusk recently announced the intentions of the Polish government to join the “European Iron Dome” (European Sky Shield).
The “European Sky Shield” initiative — this is a project to build a ground-based integrated European anti-missile defense system, which includes means of combating ballistic missiles. As of January 2024, nineteen European states are participating in the initiative.
