You will stop the presence of pests in the closet in the blink of an eye. Spread in the closet, they will effectively chase away moths

Clothes moths are certainly very unwanted guests in our home.

These small insects can spread through wardrobes and closets at an alarming rate, and their presence often goes unnoticed until we discover damaged clothes.

What's worse, moths not only destroy our textiles, but over time they can also start flying around the entire house, attacking the places where we keep our clothes. Fortunately, there is a simple, home-made way to get rid of these uninvited guests.

Why do moths choose our wardrobes?

Clothes moths love dark and damp places where they can hide from sunlight. Our wardrobes are ideal for these conditions, which is why they can find their home there so easily. The key to fighting them is not only eliminating existing problems, but also preventing them from appearing.

1. Soap as a Natural Repellent

Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best! Clothes moths can't stand the smell of soap. Just cut a bar of soap into smaller pieces and spread them in the nooks and crannies of your closet. Effect? The moths will be gone in no time!

2. Lavender and Chestnuts

If you want to further strengthen your moth-fighting efforts, it's worth using lavender and chestnuts. These plants have a strong scent that effectively repels insects. Place a sprig of lavender or prepare a scented bag with essential oils inside your closet – is an easy way to create a pleasant atmosphere and protect against moths.

3. Regular cleaning and airing

There's nothing better than fresh air! Airing your wardrobe regularly will help keep it free from moisture and insects. Every now and then, it's also a good idea to thoroughly wipe down the inside of your wardrobe and get rid of clothes you no longer wear.

4. Looking through your clothes

Tidy up! Carefully go through all your clothes and textiles. Damaged items should be thrown away – they are a breeding ground for larvae, which are hard to find with the naked eye. Wash the rest of your clothes at 60 degrees Celsius – this will kill any eggs and larvae.
