X changes this feature, it becomes completely useless

Like all social networks, X is constantly evolving. The platform, acquired by Elon Musk in 2022, has undergone several changes since its purchase by the billionaire, such as paid certification. On Monday, September 23, the businessman confirmed that a feature will be drastically changed, making it completely useless. width: 376px)” srcset=”https://static.hitek.fr/img/actualite/ill_m/1993279068/elonmuskfunctionbloquerx.webp” type=”image/webp”>

on x, a blocked user will be able to see your activity

Yes, you read that right. Until now, a public account could block a user in order to prevent them from seeing and interacting with their content, as well as contacting them. However, Elon Musk has confirmed via his official X account that this feature is going to undergo a drastic change: from now on, a blocked person will still be able to see what you post, but will not be able to comment on it. A new measure that has made Internet users react, stunned by this change. Indeed, many comments highlight the absurdity of this modification, which will allow a stalker to continue to harass his victim.

High time this happened.

The block function will block that account from engaging with, but not block seeing, public post.

September 23, 2024

BREAKING: X is about to remove the current block button, which means that if an account is public, its posts will also be visible to blocked users!
It's about time this happened. The block feature will prevent that account from engaging in a public post, but it won't prevent it from being seen.

This fits perfectly with Elon Musk's vision of freedom of speech. Already in 2023, the billionaire announced that it would now be impossible to block other users, except for DMs. The boss of X is determined to make his social network the champion of his ideals, even if it means giving the green light to malicious people…

And you, what do you think of this new lax measure?
