Today's smartphones are not as durable as many would like. Manufacturers have to constantly find a balance between attractive appearance and powerful hardware. Some owners prefer to repair their favorite gadgets themselves or, as a last resort, send them to a repair shop. This practice extends the service life of smartphones.
Electronics Hub specialists conducted a unique study during which they found out which models are most often repaired around the world. The data covers a large time period starting in 2006 and ending in December 2023. It turns out that Apple's iPhone leads the list, with 16 of the 20 devices that top the list.
The most repaired smartphone of all time is the iPhone 4, which has 5.2 million page views on iFixit. The top five are closed by iPhone 6, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s and iPhone 5s, which receive at least 2.5 million views on the “Repair” page. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S III, introduced in 2012, is the most refurbished Android model.
The top five also includes the Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG Nexus 5. for two years, users were most interested in repairing iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Google Pixel 7 Pro.
