USAID to Provide $336 Million in Humanitarian Aid to Palestinians

On Monday, September 30, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced nearly $336 million in additional humanitarian assistance for people in Gaza and the West Bank.

The agency, which provides foreign aid, said in a press release that the conflict between Israel and Hamas has displaced more than 1.9 million Palestinians and left more than 2.1 million people facing severe food insecurity.

The funding includes additional food assistance and nutrition services, mental health services, increased access to safe drinking water, hygiene and sanitation services. The aid package also aims to provide shelter for displaced Gazans ahead of the upcoming winter.
