On October 1, the United States, UK, and Australia announced sanctions against the Russian cybercrime group Evil Corp.
The blacklist includes all legal entities and individuals involved in hacker activities.
This was reported by the US Treasury Department.
Evil Corp – Russian cybercriminal organization responsible for the development and distribution of Dridex malware.
It caused over $100 million in damage in more than 40 countries.
The founder and leader of Evil Corp, Maxim Yakubets, committed cybercrimes under the guise of working at the National Engineering Corporation, the latter was headed by the son of a member of the Russian Security Council, Igor Chaika.

Now the US Treasury has announced restrictions on seven individuals and two legal entities affiliated with Russian cybercriminals.
Among them is Eduard Bendersky, an assistant to a State Duma deputy and former FSB officer, as well as Yakubets' friend Alexander Ryzhenkov. The US Department of Justice has also launched an investigation against the latter on suspicion of using the BitPaymer ransomware against American citizens.
The UK, in turn, added 16 people associated with Evil Corp to the sanctions list, including the already mentioned Yakubets, Bendersky and Ryzhenkov.
