A Russian spy was convicted in Kharkiv and sentenced to 5 years in prison.
“Dumka” learned about this from the court decision of the Chervonozavodsky District Court of Kharkiv.
According to the registry, a 35-year-old resident of Kharkiv used Telegram to transmit information about the location of Ukrainian military personnel to Russian special services.
The investigation established that the Kharkiv resident acted intentionally and without any coercion. In April 2024, he repeatedly sent text messages and screenshots of maps indicating the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine units, as well as the routes of military equipment movement. The man described in detail the location of equipment, military formations and strategic objects, in particular, the places where air defense systems were based.
He kept in touch with the representative of the Russian side through a Telegram account registered to a Russian phone number.
The court verdict was handed down on November 25. The man was found guilty under Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine). By court decision, he was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
