Ukrainian NaVi team became the first world champion with "Counter-Strike 2"

Ukrainian e-sports team Natus Vincere (NaVi) won the Counter-Strike 2 world championship. The editors of Radio Maximum congratulate the players on a historic event.

The team became the champion in the most prestigious CS-2 tournament – PGL Major Copenhagen 2024. It took place in Copenhagen from March 17 to 31. They announced their victory on Twitter.

In the grand final, NaVi defeated the American team FaZe Clan with a score of 2:1 on two maps out of three. They played on Ancient, Mirage and Inferno maps. NaVi won the first map with a score of 13 to 9, FaZe won the second map 13:2, and NAVI won the third map 13:3.

The prize pool of the tournament is 1.25 million dollars, of which NaVi will receive 500 thousand dollars< /strong>, Faze – 170 thousand.

During the broadcast on Maincast channels, more than 5.6 million hryvnias were collected in donations for the needs of “Azov” fighters. NaVi announced that they will double this amount.

The team members are Ukrainians Valery Vakhovsky (b1t) and Ihor Zhdanov (w0nderful), citizens of Finland Aleksi Virolainen (Aleksib), Romanian Ivan Mihai (iM) and Lithuanian Justinas Lekavicius (jL).

Counter Strike 2 was released on Steam on September 28, 2023. This was the first Major tournament for this version of the game. Previous annual tournaments were held for “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive”. After the release of the updated version, CS:GO disappeared from Steam.
