A 22-year-old resident of Lutsk was found guilty of fraud — A man sold non-existent military uniforms and ammunition through social networks. From June to December 2022, the accused defrauded people of 300 thousand hryvnias.
In the case — more than 60 victims, the verdict of the Lutsk City District Court states, reports Suspilne.
The investigation knows that the accused spent the money received from people who wanted to buy military uniforms and ammunition on gambling, betting in bookmakers and purchasing goods.
In court, the man repented of his actions, asked not to be severely punished and expressed a desire to compensate for the harm caused to people in the future.
In the end, the accused was sentenced to 4 years and 3 months in prison. The convict can appeal this sentence in the court of appeal.
