Ukrainian “killer duo”: a new drone complex

During the visit of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Kyiv, a unique Ukrainian development was presented – a drone complex, which includes the reconnaissance UAV “Shark” and the RAM-2X kamikaze drone. This “killer duo”, as the experts of Defense Express called it, demonstrates a new level of innovation in the military sphere.

What is known about the complex?

The peculiarity of the new product lies in its integrated approach. “Shark”, developed by “Ukrspetssystems”, is responsible for reconnaissance, search and targeting. It is capable of operating in conditions of intense radio-electronic interference created by Russian electronic warfare systems.

The second element of the complex is the RAM-2X, a modernized version of the RAM II loitering munition, created on the basis of the “Leleka-100”. RAM-2X is designed to engage targets in the frontline zone, similar to the American Switchblade or the Russian “Lancet”.

Why is it important?

The “Shark” reconnaissance vehicle can perform not only its basic functions, but also act as a repeater, which increases the range and effectiveness of the RAM-2X. This allows for significantly improved coordination and effectiveness of attacks.

Despite the fact that the detailed characteristics of the drones have not yet been made public, experts already see significant potential in them for strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.
