Ukrainian engineers have developed an innovative fiber optic system for combat drones that jams enemy electronic warfare.

Ukrainian developers have presented a fiber-optic communication system for drones, which significantly increases the effectiveness of combating electronic warfare. This innovation was demonstrated by the DRONARIUM team during the Demo Day event, reports«Military».

The system consists of a special coil, a media convector and flight controller, which are integrated into drones. The coil weighs 2.3 kg and has a cable length of up to 10 km. This technology provides stable communication even under conditions of active electronic warfare. It allows you to transmit telemetry, video, and control drones with minimal latency and bandwidth up to 1000 Mbps.

During the demonstration, the developers showed the capabilities of an FPV drone with fiber-optic control, capable of performing maneuvers with a combat load. Bomber copters that dropped ammunition and a mechanism for dropping FPV drones to perform combat missions were also presented.

An important advantage is the system's high resistance to interference and a significantly lower cost compared to traditional protected radio communication systems. The main challenge remains the probability of fiber optic breakage, which is minimized by high-quality materials and operator training.

This technology opens up new opportunities for the use of drones in difficult combat conditions, providing stable communication and protection from enemy influence.
