Two members of an intelligence network who helped launch attacks on the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk region were sentenced to 15 years in prison

A guilty verdict was passed against two citizens for collaboration as part of an organized group who helped the FSB of the Russian Federation launch strikes on the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk region. They were sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for a period of 13 years and confiscation of property.

This was reported by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors proved that in July 2022, FSB officers offered so-called confidential cooperation to a Ukrainian citizen who had been on the territory of the aggressor state for 4 months.

“Supporting the Kremlin regime, the man agreed to set up an agent network in Ukraine to collect intelligence on the whereabouts of our defenders. To implement the enemy's criminal plan, he involved a familiar Kharkiv native who has been living in Moscow since 2014. The latter, in turn, took as his assistants an equally «ideological» colleague from Druzhkivka, who is already serving a sentence of 12 years in prison,” — told the prosecutor's office.

Following his instructions, the recruited «scout» searched for the locations of personnel, checkpoints, fortified areas and firing positions of Ukrainian servicemen. At the same time, he added fragments of maps, coordinates of buildings, trenches, trenches and other fortifications to the messages in the messenger.

“The agents paid special attention to the places of concentration of equipment of the Defense Forces units in the Kramatorsk district. They also gave the «task» the man to report on the consequences of shelling in order to adjust the fire from the Russian troops,” — noted in the prosecutor's office.

One of the convicted «curators» analyzed the information received from him and passed the most important information to the head of the network, who sent it to the FSB of the Russian Federation. In this way, they carried out subversive activities against Ukraine.
