Turkey tests missile that can hit targets in Crimea: video

The missile managed to cover 500 km and hit a small target in the Black Sea.

The Turkish army has successfully tested the Tayfun long-range ballistic missile. The launch took place from a mobile installation at the Rize-Artvin airport on the Black Sea coast.

The video was published by the Turkish state defense company Roketsan on the X network.

The missile managed to cover 500 km and hit a small target in the Black Sea. At the same time, for security reasons, the Turkish authorities stopped air and sea traffic within a radius of 700 km.

The minimum flight range of this missile is 280 km. This is enough to reach the Crimean coast: from Turkey to the peninsula about 270 km across the sea in a straight line.

At the same time, Roketsan is working on modifying the missile to achieve a maximum flight range of 1000 km.

The Tayfun missile has a length of  6500 m and a weight of 2300 kg. It is equipped with an advanced guidance system that ensures high accuracy, it can hit targets even in conditions of interference created by electronic warfare means or GPS malfunctions. 

The missile is also capable of developing hypersonic speed, which allows it to evade sophisticated air defense systems.
