Trump privately complains about Elon Musk's intrusiveness – NYT journalist

US President-elect Donald Trump privately «complains» to his entourage for the constant presence of businessman and billionaire Elon Musk. This was stated by New York Times journalist and political analyst Maggie Haberman in Kara Swisher's On podcast, reports The Daily Beast.

«Trump really complains a little to people that Musk is often around… He is constantly under Trump's nose», — she declared.

The NYT previously reported that Elon Musk rents the $2,000-a-night Banyan Cottage at Trump's Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, where he can attend the president-elect's staff meetings and «drop in for dinner&raquo ;.

As the article states, Donald Trump hasn't even taken office yet, and Musk has already intervened in political battles, and Democrats have even started calling him «President Musk». According to Haberman, such mockery «definitely worries» Trump. She doubted that the businessman would have an office in the White House and that he would even be allowed there.

The journalist also said that Musk seems more inclined to «annoy» Trump than some of his other advisers, and they have a tense relationship, despite the businessman's financial capabilities.

Businessman and owner of the X platform Musk publicly supported Donald Trump during the election campaign.

The AP agency, citing sources, reported that Elon Musk allocated about $200 million to the political committee America PAC to support Trump in the election race.

On November 8, Axios, citing its own sources, reported that Elon Musk was present during Trump's first phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after the Republican won the election.

On November 13, NBC News, citing sources, reported that Musk is increasingly irritated Trump's entourage with its constant interference in political matters.

In November, it became known that Elon Musk and millionaire and populist Vivek Ramaswamy were offered the positions of heads of the new Ministry of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
