Ukraine and the European Commission extended the “transport visa-free” for one year with the possibility of its “automatic extension” until the end of 2025.

About the agreement between our state and the European Commission regarding visa-free transport, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, announced.

In this way, freight road transport both from Ukraine to the EU and in the opposite direction – from the European Union to Ukraine – and further will not require special permits. Also, the updated agreement provides for a number of mutual obligations regarding the availability of licenses for transportation and marking of trucks.

Today we have a result – the opportunity for our business to plan its work, ensuring stability and predictability in the market of two-way and transit transportation, the same conditions of transportation for both Ukrainians and foreigners. It is important that the Agreement is needed not only for Ukraine, it also has a positive impact on the EU market. The latter is confirmed by the numbers – for example, if we compare last year with 2021, imports from the EU to Ukraine increased by more than 45%. It was possible to increase the export of domestic goods by 45% by road, – stressed Deputy Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Serhii Derkach.

One of the innovations is the availability of supporting documents for trucks leaving Ukraine empty of goods for EU countries. Also, it is about creating a special working group to analyze the impact of “visa-free” to the market It will include representatives of Ukraine and the EU.
