Top 5 mistakes to avoid when installing Windows named

Want to install or reinstall Windows? Let me share what you should pay attention to so that everything goes smoothly.

What you should know

The first thing I often see is when they try to install Windows 11 on an old computer. Seriously, this system is simply not for old hardware. It is demanding, and if your PC is ten years old, it is better to stop at Windows 10, and sometimes even think about Windows 7. Yes, it is no longer sold, but you can find and install it, and it will work better than any modern option. Especially if you do not have an SSD – without it, Windows 10 and 11 become simply slow turtles.

Next, about pirated builds. I understand why people download them, but it's really risky. You have no idea what's inside those “free” versions. Viruses, Trojans, anything. It's better to download the official version from the Microsoft website and use it without activation, if you can't buy a key. It's safer, and the whole system will work fine, just with minor restrictions.

One more point -— Internet during installation. I don't understand why people turn it off, because they say it's necessary. It's a great opportunity to download all updates and patches at once. Believe me, with the Internet connected, the system will be ready to work much faster.

About disks. Here too, mistakes are often made. If you have one solid disk on your computer, divide it into logical parts. Allocate a separate drive C for Windows and leave the others for your files. In which case, you can safely reinstall the system without affecting important information. This is generally a must-have for normal operation.

And, of course, backup. This is really important. I often hear people after reinstalling Windows clutching their heads because they accidentally deleted files from drive C. By default, all documents and data from the desktop are stored there. Therefore, before starting the installation, make a backup copy of everything important. This can save your nerves.

So, the main thing is not to rush, weigh everything and do not neglect such simple things. Then installing Windows will not be a headache for you, but on the contrary, it will give your computer a new lease of life.
