A Chinese company has released a new smartphone that changes color in the cold and has a high level of protection against water and dust, writes The Verge. We tell you the details.
The Chinese company Realme has introduced new smartphones 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus that change color at low temperatures.
These phones have a feature – when the temperature drops below 16°C, their white color changes to blue. As soon as the temperature rises, the color returns to its original color. This technology works thanks to special pigments that react to temperature. However, this feature loses its effect over time due to regular use.
In addition, smartphones have three flashes that help to better reproduce skin colors in the dark. In the 14 Pro Plus model, the flashes are located between the three cameras, while in the 14 Pro – only two lenses, and the third round element – is a hollow part that imitates a lens.
The phones also have IP69 protection against water and dust. Both smartphones are equipped with 50 MP cameras, Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 (Pro Plus) and MediaTek Dimensity 7300 (Pro) processors, as well as 6000 mAh batteries with 80 W fast charging. The novelty is already available in India at a price of 22,999 rupees (approximately $ 265).
In 2025, Samsung will introduce a phone with three screens, but its high cost and limited release may prevent it from gaining popularity. The smartphone will most likely receive a G Type form factor, that is, it will fold only inward – so the screens will be better protected. At the same time, this makes the device more expensive, as it requires significant resources to create a complex mechanism for bending the screen.
