The US will allocate $841 billion for defense in 2025

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced at a national defense forum in California that the Pentagon will increase defense spending to $841 billion in 2025. This year, Washington spent $824 billion on defense.

According to the American minister, next year the Pentagon will spend $100 billion more compared to 2021. He emphasized that due to the need to maintain the country's military potential and significant challenges from Russia, China and North Korea, it is necessary to establish a record level of funding for the Department of Defense.

Lloyd Austin believes that such a threshold of defense spending will ensure that the United States of America maintains its primacy in military power. It is noteworthy that as of 2021, about 72% of the 3.5 million federal employees were in positions related to national defense.

At the same time, the State Department (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) accounts for only 1% of federal employees.
