The US has released an audio recording of the explosion of the Titanic, which was heading towards the wreckage of the Titanic

The US Coast Guard has released an audio recording that it believes is the acoustic signal from the Titan submarine disaster that occurred in June 2023.

The audio recording is part of the investigation, CNN reports.

The sound was recorded by a passive acoustic recorder from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration about 1,500 kilometers from the wreckage.

Recall that in June 2023, due to strong pressure at the bottom of the ocean, an explosion occurred on a submarine heading to the wreckage of the Titanic. There were five tourists on board.

Later, the US Coast Guard discovered the wreckage of the Titanic at the bottom 500 meters from the sunken Titanic. Several more fragments of the boat's hull were also found underwater. “Titan” exploded during the dive, killing its crew.

Later, it turned out that the submarine's side had not undergone the necessary inspection, and the crew was in a hurry to start the dive. It turned out that the submarine “Titan” was certified only for diving to 1,300 meters – this is much less than the depth where the wreckage of the Titanic lies.

On July 7, 2024, the company OceanGate, which organized excursions to the sunken Titanic, ceased its activities.

In August of the same year, the family of a French sailor who died on the Titanic filed a lawsuit for $50 million. His relatives accused OceanGate of gross negligence, which led to tragic consequences.
