Ukrainian the manufacturer presented the ZOOM drone as an alternative to the Chinese Mavic

The Ukrainian company Frontline presented the new ZOOM reconnaissance drone at the DefenseTech Valley exhibition. This drone is part of a complete system that includes a ground antenna and a control point, ready to use right out of the box. This means that the military does not need to spend time on additional configuration before the flight: in particular, on installing amplifiers or anonymizing the signal.

Innovative communication platform “Hertz”

ZOOM, like other Frontline drones, uses its own Hertz communication platform, which guarantees stable control and secure video communication. Thanks to this, the drone works effectively even in conditions of intense radio-electronic warfare (EW). The communication system operates in two bands with pseudo-random frequency hopping (PSHF) at a width of 225 MHz. Also, the platform transmits four times more command packets than needed, providing continuous control over the drone.

Key features of the ZOOM drone

  • Visual navigation module for hovering over the terrain
  • Position maintenance without the help of GPS
  • Ability to hover at a height of up to 200 meters< /li>
  • Maximum error – up to 5 meters
  • Resistance at a wind speed of more than 10 m/s
  • Automatic take-off and landing functions

The exact cost of the device has not yet been disclosed, but it will be commensurate with popular Chinese counterparts. Currently, the drone is undergoing codification and is being prepared for serial production for transfer to the military.
